I am not much for PDA (public displays of affection) however, Gordon and I have been married almost 24 years. Through those years we have grown a lot (grown old too!) in the LORD and I thought it time to give tribute to this wonderful man.
Gordon had a very hard knock life, especially as a young child. FATHER brought him through many foster families until he ended up with him Mom and Dad B. These folks had four daughters and raised 28 foster children through the years; Gordon and his sister being the last.
Mom and Dad B. brought Gordon to Christ. He was baptized in a river in Tennessee. They raised him right in so many, many ways and I owe debt of gratitude to them both!
Gordon has an amazing work ethic. He works hard and smart. He is hands on. He loves people and is always concerned about the folks he manages. He can fix just about anything! And if he can't fix it, he will learn!
Because of his early life, he has a simplistic outlook on how to treat folks. "Are you doing ok? Are your bills paid? Do you need food? Transportation? Do you need an ear-someone to listen to you? Have you messed up? Fine, repent and lets go on!"
He is even tempered, even keeled; steady as we go. Which is perfect because I can be all over the place!
Gordon loves his family. However, he will not compromise. As Joshua said, "As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." This brings me comfort knowing that, even if Gordon fails, the Holy Spirit will get his attention and he will correct as situation.
He and I have been through some extremely challenging times during our marriage, but practicing the commands of Christ and relying on His Holy Spirit, has brought us through time and again!
Thank you Gordon for being a wonderful husband, for loving our FATHER, for running after HIM and not this world. Thank you for the comfort and joy you have brought me. Thank you for being such a wonderful Dad to our kids. Thank you for being patient with me and oh so caring! I thank FATHER for you and all that you are.
