This next writing has some things that I am still coming into an understanding of, so bare with me, please be patient.
John 6:63 It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the Words the I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.
quicken --to make more rapid, accelerate, to hasten, to stimulate
profit --to gain
The Holy Spirit stimulates growth/life in us. The flesh does not. Pour as you may into your flesh: your career, your body (exercise), your mind, your talents...all will perish at the coming of the LORD.
If you pour a little gas into a car, you will go for a little while.....
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
What do you hunger after?
